AI agents vs chatbots
People often use "chatbot" and "AI agent" as if they mean the same thing. They are related, but they are not the same.
Chatbots answer questions#
A chatbot is built to talk. You type a question, and it replies with information. That can be useful for FAQs, after-hours answers, or pointing someone to the right page.
On its own, a chatbot usually stays in the conversation. It does not go update a record, book a time, or move data between apps unless someone has wired that extra work on top.
AI agents take action#
An AI agent can understand a request, make decisions, and take actions across your tools. It can still answer a question — and then it can do the next step.
For example, an agent might:
- Look up a customer in your CRM
- Answer their inquiry
- Update the record
- Book an appointment
- Send a follow-up
without a person doing each of those clicks.
Which one do you need?#
If the job is mostly answering questions, an AI assistant or chatbot-style experience may be enough. If the job is finishing work across the tools you already use, an agent is usually a better fit.
AdvancedAI.tech builds custom AI agents, workflow automations, and AI assistants. We work with the CRM, email, spreadsheets, and other business apps you already have. We use leading AI models like OpenAI and Claude, picked to fit the job.
How we help you decide#
A free discovery call is the starting point. You describe the repetitive work, we talk through whether an agent, an assistant, or a workflow automation is the right shape, and then we send a custom proposal.
If you move forward, we handle the build, train you and your team, and include 90 days of support after launch. Additional support can be arranged after that.
